Salida Fire Department Responds to Fatal Fire at Salida RV Park

Salida, CO- On April 18, 2026 at approximately 0143 hours, the Salida Fire Department responded to a report of a recreational vehicle (RV) fire at the Salida RV Park, 6507 CR 102, Salida, Colorado.

Units arrived to find a recreational vehicle fully involved. Firefighters immediately initiated an aggressive fire attack, and the fire was brought under control at approximately 0205. One occupant was able to escape the structure. 

The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Salida Fire Department, the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control, and the Salida Police Department. The scene remains secured pending the outcome of that investigation.

Recreational vehicle fires are known to progress extremely rapidly, leaving little time for occupants to escape.

The Salida Fire Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and those affected. No further information is available at this time.
