Salida, CO- The City of Salida is calling on residents to participate in a short survey—open now through Friday, December 19, to share their experiences and opinions about household trash, recycling, and composting. The goal is to better understand how residents are using these services and where improvements may be needed.
This outreach comes as the City prepares for a new statewide recycling policy under Colorado’s Producer Responsibility for Recycling Act (HB 22-1355). That law shifts the financial responsibility for recycling packaging and paper from local governments to the companies that produce these materials.
The Salida Residential Trash, Recycling, and Composting Survey should take 10 minutes or less to complete, with one response per household. All responses will remain confidential and will be reported only in summary.
“We want to hear directly from our community about how you currently manage waste and recycling at home,” said Sara Law, PIO/Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Salida. “Your feedback is key to helping us align with the upcoming Producer Responsibility program and ensure that the new system reflects our residents’ needs.”
Residents are encouraged to take the survey before the December 19 deadline and will be eligible for a local gift card drawing by submitting the survey.
