The City of Salida is a model for other communities working towards a more sustainable future through our commitment to energy efficiency and carbon reduction. As a global community and host to travelers and outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world, the City of Salida is committed to protecting the environment for everyone. Many of the City's sustainability initiatives are highlighted below.
In 2021, the City of Salida adopted a Climate Action Plan to set goals and prioritize sustainability initiatives. The City’s Sustainability Committee is a volunteer board tasked with researching, promoting and implementing policy and project recommendations from the Climate Action Plan. Additionally, the City works closely with Chaffee County and the Regional Sustainability Contractor to align municipal goals with broader community initiatives around Energy, Waste and Transportation.
