Waste diversion is a key component in the City of Salida’s Climate Action Plan, which prioritizes community participation, education, incentives, and a focus on diverting construction and demolition waste. The Chaffee County Recycling Guide is a great resource for businesses and residents to learn about opportunities to recycle packaging, organics, electronics, paint, batteries, light bulbs, construction waste, and much more. The City hosts a Community Composting drop-off site for residents and is also supporting zero-waste efforts at events like the annual FibArk Whitewater Festival.
