As part of ongoing efforts to understand and improve local waste and recycling programs, the City of Salida and the STEPS project team conducted a resident survey to assess participation, satisfaction, and support needs related to trash, recycling, and organics management.
The goals of the resident survey were as follows:
1. Understand residents’ awareness of and attitudes toward waste and recycling
2. Understand residents’ access to and satisfaction with their current hauling system
3. Disseminate information on Colorado’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program
The survey included questions on access, frequency and cost of services, container types, and educational outreach. It was completed by 1,024 respondents in English and two respondents in Spanish. Please see the executive summary and full report linked in the Supporting Documents below.
