The City of Salida received top honors for best website nationwide by the City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) in September. The organization selects winners by category, based on population. Salida took first place nationwide, and received the Savvy Award, for a community whose population is below 43,000.

The City debuted its new website in November 2020 with a vastly improved visual experience and easy-to-navigate sitemap. The site, www.cityofsalida.com, is one of the City's most valuable communication tools and offers a one-stop shop for residents and visitors to find information. The website’s focus is on municipal information, including City departments and staff, elected officials, special events, City projects, news, arts and recreation opportunities, and much more.

3CMA awards are presented annually for creative and successful programs in the following categories:

  • Communication and Marketing Tools
  • Graphic Design & Photography
  • Communication and Marketing Processes

3CMA judges are local government professionals and individuals from the professional, consulting and academic communities who are highly knowledgeable in marketing and communications.

One selection judge had this to say about Salida’s website: “The new website is great! It is abundantly clear that the community was the top priority in designing this site. This site has such a great, interesting vibe that it makes a visitor want to explore and learn more about the community. This site is also easy to navigate with high-priority items clear and center on the homepage. Great job!”
