The Preview: 

Love the Movies – Love a Cause 

Enjoy a movie, learn something new, and support your favorite non-profit. 

Through an application process, once a month, a selected non-profit will receive complimentary the use of the SteamPlant Theater to host a fundraising movie night (documentaries/mission related) to showcase, fundraise, grow membership, attract volunteers for their organization, etc 

The Reel: 

On the third Wednesday of each month, the SteamPlant theater will brighten the big screen with a movie to showcase the cause of a local non-profit.  

80% of ticket sales will go directly to support the non-profit’s work within the community. 

Non-profits will have an opportunity to garner even more support through silent auctions, meet and greets, marketing materials and membership drives in the Paquette Gallery before the movie 

Lights…Camera…Action: 

Submit your application for a chance to host a Big Screen Benefit fund-raising event. Each year, the ACAC will select organizations to host a movie to showcase their organization’s mission. 

Promote your Big Screen Benefit through social media, flyers, word of mouth, newsletters. The more seats you fill, to bring the community together, the more your organization will benefit. 

Collect 80% of ticket sale proceeds from your Big Screen Benefit event. 

The Credits: 

A media packet including templates, Arts & Culture logos, and marketing ideas will be provided to make promoting your event easy. 

Your Big Screen Benefit will be showcased on the SteamPlant marquee, featured in the monthly newsletter, and added to the Arts & Culture calendar. 

 

Eligibility for Big Screen Benefit: 

501(c) non-profit organization serving the greater Salida, Colorado area with a focus on:  

 

  • Arts & Culture 

  • Recreation 

  • Health & Wellness 

  • Environment & Sustainability 

  • Schools & Education 

  • Community Services 

Application Process: 

  • Annual application period 

  • On-line application: IRS Letter of designation, Mission statement, impact, focus, 

  • Additional activity: Silent auction, membership drive, give-a-ways, promotional items,  

The Fine Print: 

Agreement/contract – rules, regs, obligations, approvals,  

  • Non-profit organizations will be responsible for securing/paying licensing rights to show the movie. 

  • Non-profit can seek complimentary permission directly from film makers to show films 

  • Movie must be approved - SteamPlant holds the right to not show a movie that it deems inappropriate. 

  • $16.00 ticket price 

  • 80% of ticket proceeds go directly to non-profit 

  • Two-week period to process check
