Tina Gramann joins the Arts and Culture Department as the Community Engagement and Special Events Coordinator

Tina Gramann joins the Arts and Culture Department for the City of Salida as the Community Engagement and Special Events Coordinator. A newly established role within the Arts & Culture Department, Tina is responsible for outreach to the arts community and for forging partnerships with local creatives, organizations, and businesses. She will assist the Department’s managing staff with increasing the visibility of the Salida Creative District and help broaden offerings and programming for all ages.

From networking and workshops for artists, to art classes for the public, and opportunities for the community to engage in the arts, Tina will play an essential role in furthering the goals of the Creative District and the Public Art Commission to help preserve Salida’s creative identity and enhance the quality of life for the community. Tina will also serve as the primary point of contact both for Special Event park reservations and certain activities within the Creative District.

A resident of Salida since 2013, Tina is passionate about the arts and its impact on our daily lives. She is an artist and teacher with over 20 years experience in arts management, community outreach, and program development. She is the founding artistic director of Salida Creativity Lab, producing cultural events for the community such as the annual Lunar New Year and Asia Fest (now in its 7th year) and Día de los Muertos with partners Las Tres Amigas. Tina served as program director for the nonprofit arts organization Articipate, and she partners with Salida schools and teaches art and drama to hundreds of children each school year. Previous to Salida, she served as the education director and performing arts school director at regional professional Zachary Scott Theatre Center in Austin for 10 years.

Tina is a practicing theater and visual artist. She is a professional fight choreographer, and served as resident fight choreographer for Zachary Scott Theatre Center and Austin Shakespeare Company. She is a muralist and chalk artist, and her work can be seen at Natural Grocers, on several F St. blockades, homes, and businesses.

Tina has an MFA in Theater and is a graduate of Leadership Austin’s Essential Class. She is a core member of the City of Salida’s Arts & Culture Space to Create project, and she was recently selected by Americans for the Arts to participate in their strategic realignment process. When not making art, Tina enjoys camping and paddle boarding with her partner Brian and keeping in touch with her two adult children living in the Los Angeles and Austin areas.
