Sandusky Building

The Community Development and Planning Department helps realize the vision of the community as outlined in the Comprehensive Plan.  This is accomplished by implementing the requirements of the Land Use and Development Code and supporting the City Council and the Boards and Commissions tasked with making land use decisions and recommendations. Salida partners with Chaffee County Development Services to issue building permits and inspect new construction conformance with Salida development standards and building safety codes.

 

South Ark Neighborhood Plan

The City is beginning to develop an ideal site plan and update regulations for the approximately 100 acres of City-owned land along the South Arkansas River south of Highway 50 (previously known as a portion of the Vandaveer Ranch Planned Development). Please take some time to review the initial survey summary for the South Ark Neighborhood Plan. Summary includes results from the Jan. 31, 2023 open house at the Salida SteamPlant (approx. 300 participants) as well as the online survey conducted from Jan. 31 - Feb. 15, 2023 (~900 responses).
