Salida's Softball League helps children develop new skills like friendly competition, teamwork, physical activity, developing self-confidence, and more. The aim of encouraging overall child development through sports supersedes any desire to top the standings.

Registration: March to May

Program Dates: May to July

Waitlist: On-time registration is not limited, but late registrations are subject to team limits

Divisions:

  • 6U - T-Ball (Coed) (Registration in Baseball)
  • 8U - Machine Pitch
  • 10U - Modified Pitch
  • 12U - Live Pitch
  • 14U - Live Pitch  
  • 16U - Live Pitch
  • 18U - Live Pitch

Teams: 2 to 4 per division

Players: 14 maximum per team

Locations: Practices and Games at Marvin Park located at 900 W 1st St, Salida, CO 81201

Times: Practice can take place from 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through Thursday. Facilitated practices can take place on Fridays between 8 AM and 8 PM. Games take place on Mondays at BV and Tuesdays in Salida between 4 PM to 8 PM. Away games besides BV will all depend on availability to other cities. Practice times for each team depend on the availability of the team’s volunteer coach.

Practices:

  • Tball has a coached practice once a week
  • 8U has one coached practice and one facilitated practice a week
  • 10U has one coached practice and one facilitated practice a week
  • 12U has one coached practice and one facilitated practice a week
  • 14U has one coached practice and one facilitated practice a week
  • 16U has one coached practice once a week
  • 18 U has one coached practice once a week

Facilitated practices emphasize the fundamentals of the sport and are coached by experienced coaches. They're available to all division participants.

Volunteer coach-lead practices are led by trained volunteers for their individual teams.

Games:

The games do not begin until the second week of the season and are throughout the week from 4 PM to 8 PM at Marvin Park. Away games besides BV will all depend on availability to other cities.

Team Communications: Teams and practice schedules will be sent out 3 weeks in advance, when schedules are sent out you will receive an invitation to Team Snap.
